Hi, I’m Alix, founder of Just Like Home. Caring for dogs isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am. With over 40 years of hands-on experience working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, I’ve dedicated my life to understanding their needs and helping them feel safe, balanced, and loved.For the past 15 years, I’ve been providing in-home dog boarding, creating a calm, structured environment where dogs can truly feel at ease. My background also includes rescue work and behavior management, which has given me extensive experience with everything from shy and anxious dogs to more challenging personalities.

I’m comfortable administering medications, managing special needs, and ensuring every dog receives the individualized care they deserve. Whether your pup needs extra patience, structure, socialization, or just a lot of love, I tailor my approach to meet them exactly where they are.

My goal is simple: to create a true “home away from home” where your dog feels secure, understood, and genuinely happy while you’re away.

Brittany is an incredible part of the Just Like Home family and plays a vital role in ensuring we can provide care for your dogs 365 days a year. While most dogs will be staying with me, there are times when I’m away—and during those times, Brittany steps in seamlessly to care for the group. Having worked alongside me for many years, she understands my approach, routines, and expectations, ensuring your dog receives the same consistent, high-quality care.

Brittany has a natural ability with dogs and manages group dynamics beautifully. She is calm, confident, and highly experienced in handling a variety of personalities and behaviors. Dogs respond to her steady energy, and she truly knows how to create a safe, balanced, and positive environment.
